Solar Upgrade for South Port Surf Life Saving Club Sponsorship 2025.

South Port Surf Life Saving Club, located at Port Noarlunga in South Australia’s south, is an iconic part of the local coastline. Established in 1959, the club has supported generations of surf lifesavers, patrolling the rugged and shifting conditions at the mouth of the Onkaparinga River. Known for its distinctive clubhouse overlooking the dunes, its wooden boardwalk access from the main road and its long history of community service, South Port SLSC remains a vital part of the region’s coastal identity.

An Iconic Location

As a local business operating in the region, MyEnergy had long been interested in supporting the club through sponsorship. Helping South Port SLSC improve their solar performance felt like a natural way to contribute. After initial discussions and the necessary rounds of council approval, MyEnergy pledged its support to deliver a new system that would work alongside the existing equipment and significantly reduce the club’s seasonal electricity costs.

Scalable Solar for a Coastal Environment

MyEnergy designed a grid-connected solution that would seamlessly integrate with the club’s original GoodWe inverter. A Deye High Voltage 10kW Three Phase Hybrid Inverter was selected as the ideal unit to complement the existing system. On the clubhouse roof, MyEnergy installed 28 JA Solar panels using a Schletter Roof Mount System, totalling 12.32kW of additional solar input, an immediate boost to the club’s energy production.

The upgraded design provides stable operation year-round, allowing the club to maximise energy production during peak daylight hours and significantly reduce grid reliance at their busiest times of year. The installation was completed just days before the start of the surf life saving season, ensuring the club entered summer with a strong, efficient solar setup.
