Tooperang is a small town best known for its unique geography and minimal light pollution, making it an ideal spot for amateur stargazing. Tooperang Hall regularly hosts the Astronomical Society of South Australia, where amateur astronomy enthusiasts enjoy the clear night skies. Even though Tooperang feels remote it is only 65 kilometers from Adelaide but there's still no grid connection, so the MyEnergy team were called in to provide a off grid power system for a new build!
Off Grid Power System with Room to Grow
MyEnergy installed an off grid power system featuring 11.62kW of solar, with panels roof-mounted across both the home and shed to maximise energy generation throughout the day. The system is built around a Victron MultiPlus-II inverter, supported by Victron SmartSolar charge controllers and a Cerbo GX, providing reliable performance along with clear system monitoring and control.
Battery storage is supplied by 14.2kWh of Pylontech lithium batteries, housed in an expandable cabinet designed with future growth in mind. The setup allows for the addition of up to four extra batteries, making it straightforward to increase storage capacity as the property’s energy needs evolve over time.
