Remote Area Power System at Mount Barry Station, South Australia.
Mount Barry Station, Off-grid Power System
Mount Barry Station is a vast, remote cattle station located on Kempe Road, around 100 kilometres northeast of Coober Pedy in South Australia. Established as its own station in the late 1940s, it has been owned by the Williams family since 1981. Covering approximately 4,920 square kilometres, Mount Barry operates completely off-grid, supporting day-to-day cattle operations, homesteads, sheds and critical water infrastructure.
Bringing Reliable Remote Area Power to Mount Barry
Operating at this scale and distance from the grid means reliable power is essential to keep station operations running without interruption. As power demands increased, Mount Barry Station required a remote area power system capable of supporting ongoing agricultural operations in one of Australia’s most isolated regions. MyEnergy were brought in to design and install a remote area power system, housed within an on-site shed.
