Understanding Your Deye Batteries
Battery identification, safe checks and support for Deye energy-storage systems.
Your battery model matters. A Deye inverter can be installed with batteries from several manufacturers. Check the label on the battery itself before using this guide. These notes cover Deye-branded energy-storage batteries; the exact model manual and your MyEnergy handover instructions take priority.
Identify the battery and system
Record the full model name, including any suffix such as Pro or Pro-B, the number of modules and the inverter model. Deye has different low-voltage and high-voltage battery ranges. Their wiring, startup sequences and settings are not interchangeable.
Why charging or discharge may pause
The battery management system (BMS) can limit operation for temperature, voltage or other protective conditions. The inverter may also hold energy in reserve or follow a charging schedule. Check the display for both the battery status and the inverter operating mode before assuming there is a battery fault.
Use Deye charging and discharge customer checks for inverter-side guidance, and charging schedules and battery reserve to understand your configured mode.
What to do with an alarm
- Photograph the exact alarm, battery indicator lights and inverter display from a safe position.
- Note the time, charge percentage, weather and any large appliances running when it occurred.
- Check whether the app data is current. An offline app is not proof that the battery has stopped working.
- Reduce non-essential loads through their normal appliance controls if the system is low on energy.
- Contact MyEnergy if the battery remains unavailable, the alarm returns or a module behaves differently from the rest.
Do not remove covers, unplug modules, bypass the BMS or force charging. Ask for the correct recovery procedure before operating battery switches after a shutdown.
Common Deye battery questions
Why does the inverter show reserve while the battery still contains energy? A configured reserve can retain energy for backup or another operating requirement. Reaching that level does not necessarily mean the battery is empty or faulty. Ask MyEnergy to check the intended mode if the behaviour is unexpected.
Does Deye Cloud identify the battery installed? Record the physical battery label as well as the app information. The inverter brand or monitoring platform is not enough to identify a battery supplied by another manufacturer.
Will adding batteries increase the power available to appliances? More stored energy and more output power are different requirements. The inverter, battery ratings, protection and system design all need to be checked before an upgrade.
Can I copy a restart procedure from another Deye installation? Use the procedure supplied for your equipment. Battery families and system arrangements differ, and an unresolved fault needs assessment before a restart.
Care and longer periods away
Keep access and the approved clearances around the batteries unobstructed. Report damaged enclosures, water exposure or changes in the battery area. A discharged or isolated battery should not be left unattended for an extended period; contact us promptly for an appropriate plan.
For model-specific documents, use Deye’s SE-G5.1 Pro-B documentation only if that is your model, or ask MyEnergy for the matching manual. Warranty and expansion requirements must be checked against the exact equipment supplied.
