Deye Charging Schedules, Battery Reserve and Co-Pilot

Understand how schedules and Co-Pilot affect battery use and what to check before making changes.

This guide is for grid-connected MyEnergy Deye systems. Available controls depend on your equipment, app version and account access. Off-grid systems require a different operating plan.

Three things that affect battery behaviour

  • Normal operating mode: determines how the system uses available power.
  • Time of Use: can set periods for battery charging or discharge. It does not automatically mean your retailer has a time-of-use tariff.
  • Deye Co-Pilot: can manage charging and export using tariff information and forecasts when supported and enabled.

If the system is following Co-Pilot, changing a local schedule may not produce the result you expect. Ask MyEnergy which controls apply to your installation.

Before requesting a change

  1. Have your current electricity plan available, including import rates, export rates, time windows and any weekend differences.
  2. Decide whether your priority is keeping more backup energy or using more battery energy each day.
  3. Tell us about major loads such as an EV charger, heating or pumps.
  4. Confirm whether Co-Pilot or another external control service is active.

Battery reserve

A higher reserve keeps more energy available but leaves less for routine use. Ask MyEnergy to confirm the correct minimum state of charge in the active control mode, including Co-Pilot where enabled. Do not assume a local inverter setting and a cloud setting are the same. Never reduce protective shutdown limits to extend runtime.

After an agreed change

Check the actual battery and grid graphs over the following days, especially at the start and end of a charging window. Confirm the system time and tariff details are correct. Report unexpected paid grid charging or battery export.

Do not copy another customer’s price threshold or free charging window. Read any programme terms before enrolling. App savings forecasts are estimates.

For the existing walkthrough, see MyEnergy’s Co-Pilot guide. Its example settings must be checked against your own plan and backup needs.
