Batteries Are Discharging Quickly

 

If the batteries are dropping faster than expected, check the current property load, solar production and time of day.

Common Causes

Rapid battery discharge may be caused by:

  • Air conditioning or electric heating
  • Ovens, cooktops or electric hot water
  • Pumps, workshop equipment or EV charging
  • Several large appliances operating together
  • Low solar production or extended cloudy weather
  • Equipment left running overnight
  • Increased power use since the system was installed
What to Check
  • Review the current power load in the monitoring platform.
  • Turn off large appliances one at a time and watch whether the load reduces.
  • Check that solar production is operating during daylight hours.
  • Confirm the generator or grid is available when battery levels are low.
  • Check for new appliances, pumps or equipment running unexpectedly.
  • Compare recent battery use with previous days under similar conditions.
Battery Levels to Watch
  • Below 40%: Start reducing unnecessary power use.
  • Below 20%: Use essential loads only and confirm charging is available.
  • Below 10%: The system may shut down to protect the batteries.
