Deye Battery Not Charging or Discharging: Customer Checks

Understand battery reserves, charging limits and the information MyEnergy needs to investigate.

A battery that pauses charging or stops discharging is not always faulty. Start with the battery percentage, power-flow display, active alarms and current operating mode.

Why has discharge stopped above 0%?

Your installation may keep energy in reserve, follow a time schedule or limit discharge to protect the battery. A Co-Pilot strategy can also affect battery use. The operating reserve, low-battery alarm and protective shutdown are different settings. There is no single correct percentage for every system.

Why is the battery charging slowly?

  • The property may be using most of the available solar.
  • Cloud, shade or the time of day may limit solar production.
  • The battery may be approaching its charge target.
  • The battery management system may limit charging because of temperature or battery conditions.
  • Grid or generator charging may not be enabled for the current period.

What you can check

  1. Look for active inverter or battery alarms and photograph them.
  2. Check whether the displayed readings are current.
  3. Compare solar production with property demand. If practical, postpone non-essential high-demand appliances and observe whether charging improves.
  4. Note whether Co-Pilot, a tariff plan or a charging schedule has recently changed.
  5. Compare today’s graph with a previous day with similar conditions.

Do not change battery type, voltage, current limits, communication protocol or minimum charge settings to force the battery to operate. Never bypass battery protection.

When to contact MyEnergy

Contact us if charging remains absent when you would normally expect it, the percentage changes abruptly and repeatedly, battery modules show alarms, or the system loses power. If a battery has shut down at low charge, contact us promptly rather than leaving it discharged or repeatedly trying to restart it.
