What Happens When the Batteries Are Full

When the batteries reach full charge, the system automatically reduces or redirects excess solar production.

Depending on the system design, excess solar may:

• Supply current property loads
• Be exported to the electricity grid
• Be reduced or switched back if no additional energy is required
• Support scheduled loads such as hot water, pumps or EV charging

On an off-grid system, solar production may appear lower once the batteries are full because there is nowhere else for the excess energy to go. This is normal and does not usually indicate a fault.

The battery level may remain close to 100% while the property is using solar directly. Once solar production falls, the batteries will begin supplying power again.

If a generator is running, it will normally stop once the programmed charging and minimum run conditions have been met.

Contact MyEnergy if the batteries repeatedly show full but the property is not receiving power, or if solar production remains low after the battery level has reduced.
