What Happens When the Batteries Get Low

When battery levels fall, your system will automatically take steps to protect the batteries and maintain power.

Depending on the system design, it may:

• Start the backup generator
• Begin charging from the grid
• Reduce or disconnect non-essential loads
• Send a low-battery warning
• Shut down before the batteries are discharged too far

If the battery level falls below 40%, start monitoring power use.

Below 20%:

• Turn off non-essential appliances.
• Avoid EV charging, pool pumps and electric hot water.
• Limit heating, air conditioning and cooking loads where practical.
• Confirm the generator has fuel and is ready to start.
• Check for any alarms on the monitoring platform.

If the battery continues to fall and no charging source is available, the system may shut down to protect the batteries.

Contact MyEnergy if:

• The generator does not start.
• The batteries continue falling while the generator or grid is available.
• The system shuts down at a higher-than-expected battery level.
• The batteries are not charging during good solar conditions.
• A low-battery alarm continues to return.
