Setting Up Victron VRM Alarm Notifications
Check your notification preferences so you can receive and respond to Victron system alerts.
VRM can send email, app and browser notifications for alarms. Receiving them depends on your account preferences, installation alarm settings, device permissions and internet connection.
Set up notifications on your phone
- Install or update the official Victron VRM app and sign in to the account with access to your installation.
- Allow notifications for VRM in your phone's settings.
- In VRM, open the account Preferences menu, then Notifications. Menu placement can vary with app version.
- Check that the notification method you want is enabled. Use the notification test where available.
Email and browser notifications can also be configured in VRM preferences. Browser notifications require permission in that browser.
If alerts are not arriving
- Check that you are signed into the correct account and installation.
- Check spam folders, notification permissions and the phone's Do Not Disturb settings.
- Check that the installation is sending recent data.
- Ask MyEnergy to review alarm rules or communication-loss monitoring if you are unsure what is configured.
Do not disable alarms or change battery, inverter or generator thresholds simply to stop a notification.
When an alert arrives
Read the installation name, alarm and time. Check whether it is still active and follow Understanding Common Victron Alarms. Contact MyEnergy directly for a loss of power or an unresolved fault; an app alert does not confirm that a support request has been received.
Online monitoring and notifications cannot guarantee delivery or continuous human supervision. Confirm any agreed monitoring service with MyEnergy.
