Why Solar Production Changes During the Day

Solar production changes throughout the day as sunlight conditions change.

Production is usually:

• Low early in the morning
• Highest around the middle of the day
• Lower again in the late afternoon

Solar output can also be affected by:

• Cloud cover
• Shade from trees or buildings
• Panel direction and angle
• Seasonal changes
• Dirt, dust or debris
• High panel temperatures
• System or battery limits

When the batteries are full and property demand is low, the system may reduce solar production because the energy is not required.
