Reading Your Deye Display and Monitoring App

Understand solar, battery, load and grid readings without changing system settings.

Use the inverter display for a local check and the monitoring app supplied at handover for trends. Some installations use Deye Cloud; others use a different platform.

What do the main readings mean?

  • Solar / PV: power being produced by the connected solar panels.
  • Load: demand measured by the system. Whether this represents the whole property depends on the wiring and meters.
  • Battery / SOC: estimated state of charge, shown as a percentage.
  • Grid import: electricity coming from the network.
  • Grid export: electricity being sent to the network.

Use the arrows and charge/discharge labels to see which way power is moving. Do not interpret a plus or minus sign without checking the display legend: the app and inverter may present values differently.

kW and kWh: a simple example

kW is power at a particular moment. kWh is energy over time. An appliance drawing 2 kW for one hour uses 2 kWh. A 10 kWh battery cannot necessarily run a 10 kW appliance: the inverter and battery also have power limits.

Check your system in Deye Cloud

  1. Sign in using the account arranged at handover and select your property, sometimes called a plant.
  2. Check the latest update time before relying on a reading.
  3. Look at solar, load, battery percentage and grid flow together.
  4. Review the daily graph to see when the battery charged or discharged. Compare similar weather and usage days.

If your property is missing, ask MyEnergy to check access. Do not create a duplicate plant or remove the existing logger.

Why do the readings differ?

A cloud reading may be older than the local display. Brief mismatches can also reflect changing loads and conversion losses. Persistent unusual readings should be checked by MyEnergy. App cost estimates are a guide; use your retailer bill to confirm charges.
