Preparing Your System When Leaving the Property

Before leaving the property, take a few steps to help the system continue operating reliably.

Before You Leave

• Check the battery is well charged.
• Confirm the generator has enough fuel.
• Make sure the generator is set to automatic operation.
• Check there are no active system alarms.
• Leave the inverter, batteries and monitoring equipment switched on.
• Leave the modem or router powered so remote monitoring remains connected.
• Turn off unnecessary appliances and large electrical loads.
• Check that essential loads, such as refrigeration, water pumps and security systems, are operating correctly.

Do not completely shut down the power system unless instructed by MyEnergy.

Reduce Unnecessary Power Use

Turn off or isolate equipment that is not required while the property is unattended, including:

• Air conditioning and heating
• EV chargers
• Pool and spa equipment
• Workshop machinery
• Electric ovens and cooktops
• Non-essential lighting
• Unused pumps and hot water systems

This reduces battery discharge and unnecessary generator operation.

Extended Absences

For longer periods away:

• Arrange generator fuel and servicing if required.
• Check upcoming weather conditions.
• Ask someone to inspect the property if practical.
• Monitor the system remotely for alarms or unusual battery use.
• Contact MyEnergy before leaving if the system has recently shown faults or low-battery warnings.
