What Happens When Monitoring Goes Offline

If remote monitoring goes offline, the solar, battery and inverter system will usually continue operating normally.

Monitoring only sends system information to the online platform. It does not normally control the basic operation of the power system.

Common Causes

Monitoring may go offline because of:

  • An internet outage
  • A modem or router being switched off
  • A changed Wi-Fi name or password
  • A new internet provider or router
  • Weak Wi-Fi or mobile signal
  • The monitoring device losing power
  • A temporary platform outage
What to Check
  • Confirm the property internet is working.
  • Check that the modem or router is powered.
  • Restart the modem or router if required.
  • Check whether any internet or Wi-Fi details have changed.
  • Allow several minutes for the system to reconnect.
  • Check whether the property still has power and the system is operating normally.

Do not reset the inverter, batteries or monitoring equipment unless instructed by MyEnergy.

Important

Internet, modem, router and Wi-Fi changes are not covered under the system warranty.

Remote support charges may apply if MyEnergy is required to reconnect or reconfigure monitoring. Call-out and travel charges may also apply if site attendance is required.

Contact MyEnergy if monitoring remains offline after the internet connection has been restored, or if the system is also showing alarms or loss of power.
