Located in a remote part of regional Victoria with no reliable grid connection, this customer had been relying on an ageing and costly generator for power. They required a tiny house off grid power system designed to deliver dependable year-round performance while also integrating with the existing generator for backup supply when required. The system was carefully tailored to support the day-to-day energy needs of the home, including lighting, appliances, heating and cooling, while providing reliable power and peace of mind for remote living in Barmah.
The MyEnergy team built a tailored tiny house off grid power system to suit the customer’s energy requirements and available installation space. While one of the major benefits of tiny homes is their compact and efficient design, they do not always have the roof space or suitable roof structure required to support a full solar panel array. This made the installation of a nearby ground mount solar system an important part of the overall project design.
This tiny house off grid power system includes 7.84kW of Aiko Energy solar panels installed using a Schletter ground mount system, 15.36kWh of ZYC Energy battery storage, an 8kVa Victron MultiPlus-II inverter and a Victron SmartSolar MPPT RS 450/200-MC4 charge controller. The system also features a Victron Cerbo GX for system monitoring and management, while integrating with the existing generator to provide additional backup power support when required.
