Mintaro, a historic town in South Australia's Clare Valley, is located 130km north of Adelaide. Known for its slate mining history and Martindale Hall, it's just 15km from Clare. While the township of Clare has access to grid power, most properties in Mintaro, including this new transportable home, do not. The new property owners needed a reliable off-grid solar system to power their new home efficiently.
Aesthetic and Functional Power Solution
The property owners' new charming weatherboard cottage was positioned in a prime spot on the property, offering breathtaking rural views. With no suitable space for the power system, the design needed to complement the home's aesthetic as it would be on display. MyEnergy had to design a compact, visually appealing off-grid power system that meets energy demands while remaining scalable for future expansion.
A Seamlessly Integrated Off-Grid Solar System
MyEnergy prebuilt the off-grid power system in a weatherproof, vermin-proof cabinet, assembling and testing it offsite at MyEnergy HQ for a seamless installation. This sleek, compact design allows the system to fit perfectly under the verandah while maintaining the home’s aesthetic appeal. The cabinet placement was possible because the home's external cladding is made from fireproof materials, ensuring safety and durability.
Thirty Jinko Solar panels were strategically installed across the home's roof. This strategic placement captures sunlight throughout the day, optimising energy production for the off-grid solar system. The advanced technology integrated into the system ensures efficiency, reliability and scalability. If energy demands increase, the setup allows for two additional battery units.
