Inman Valley is a beautiful area in the heart of South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula, known for its rolling green hills and open farmland. Located about 80 km south of Adelaide, it’s tucked inland between the coastal towns of Victor Harbor and Yankalilla. Homes and farms outside the main townships rarely have grid connections and with high connection costs, an off-grid solar power system is a practical choice.
Say Goodbye to Outdated Power
At this Inman Valley home, the owners had been relying on an older off-grid system that was starting to fall short of their growing energy needs. They were looking for a more dependable solution, one that could not only deliver consistent power now but also scale up easily in the future. The plan was to install the new setup inside their existing shed, a spacious building with a roof perfectly suited for solar panel installation.
Delivering a Reliable Off-Grid Solar Power System
MyEnergy removed the old system and delivered a new off-grid solar power system built for long-term performance. The entire system was prebuilt, tested and certified off-site at MyEnergy HQ, then transported to the property for a smooth and efficient installation. This approach ensured the setup was up and running quickly with minimal disruption.
The system includes a 10kVA Victron MultiPlus II inverter, Victron SmartSolar MPPT charge controllers and a Cerbo GX. Twenty-four JA Solar panels were mounted on the shed roof using a Schletter mounting system, feeding into a 25.6kWh ZYC SIMPO battery bank housed inside a power cabinet within the shed. The cabinet allows for easy future expansion and protects the system from weather exposure and damage caused by vermin.
