Jeparit is small rural town in Victoria, located halfway between Melbourne and Adelaide, making it an ideal stopover or getaway destination. Known for its strong agricultural community focused on cropping, grazing, and livestock farming, Jeparit is also well known for being the birthplace of Sir Robert Menzies, Australia’s longest-serving Prime Minister.


The Challenge: Growing Energy Demands


This property in Jeparit had an existing off-grid power system for the home, but had outgrown the overall capacity on the property due to increasing energy usage. MyEnergy Engineering were called in to scale up the property's power, ensuring it could meet current demands and accommodate future growth seamlessly.


The Solution: A Scalable and Integrated Off-Grid System


MyEnergy Engineering designed a tailored off-grid power solution to integrate seamlessly with the existing system while connecting to the Able Generator already on-site. The new system was built within a vermin-proof cabinet placed in the property’s shed. A 12.32kW solar array, installed on both sides of the shed roof, powers the upgraded setup.


The system includes the Victron GX Touch 70 interface, providing the property owners with an intuitive display to monitor and adjust the system remotely. The current system includes six 4.8kWh Pylontech batteries, with the easy option to add a further four units within the same cabinet, offering seamless scalability to meet future energy demands.


System Highlights:


Victron MultiPlus-II 48/10000 Inverter/Charger: Supplies 10kVA continuously, with 20kVA peak capacity for high-demand periods.

Victron SmartSolar MPPT RS: DC-coupled charge controllers that maximise solar charging efficiency by feeding power directly to the batteries.

Victron GX Touch 70 Interface: An easy-to-use display for real-time system monitoring and adjustments.

12.32kW Solar Array: Jinko Tiger Neo N-Type panels mounted on the shed roof.

28.8kWh Pylontech Batteries: Scalable energy storage tailored to current needs with the flexibility to grow in the future.
