Located on the Fleurieu Peninsula approximately 70km south of Adelaide, Yankalilla Quarry, part of the Pocock Quarries group, is known for producing high-quality quartzite quarry products used across South Australia. Reliable power is essential to keeping the site operating efficiently.
MyEnergy delivered a tailored off grid power system for the Yankalilla Quarry, designed around the site’s operational requirements. Built inside a vermin and weatherproof cabinet for protection of critical system components at MyEnergy HQ, the system allowed for a fast and streamlined installation once onsite. Carefully sized to match the site's operational demands without unnecessary oversizing, the cabinet was installed within a nearby shed and connected via underground cabling to the neighboring rooms.
The system features 4.75kW of Aiko Energy solar panels installed on the shed roof using the S-Rack mounting system, paired with a Victron MultiPlus-II 48/5000/70-50 230V inverter and 15.36kWh of ZYC Energy SIMPO battery storage, with plenty of room to expand. Key system components also included the Victron SmartSolar MPPT RS 450/100-Tr and Victron Ekrano GX, providing solar charging and system monitoring capabilities to maintain reliable day-to-day performance.
Every off grid power system designed by MyEnergy is built around how the site actually operates. For Yankalilla Quarry, this meant designing a system that aligned with their daytime usage patterns while ensuring dependable long-term operation in a demanding quarry environment. From onsite cabinet integration through to trenching and final commissioning, the project was delivered as a practical and reliable off grid power solution built for daily use. By pre-building the system at MyEnergy HQ, the final onsite installation process was completed efficiently, reducing disruption to quarry operations.
