Located in the heart of McLaren Vale, The Hedonist is recognised for producing premium wines alongside its long-standing commitment to certified biodynamic and organic vineyard practices. Led by winemakers Walter Clappis, Kimberly Cooter and James Cooter, the winery combines decades of experience with a modern approach to winemaking.
As part of the commercial solar and battery system replacement, MyEnergy were brought in to carefully remove the winery’s existing solar installation, which included more than 80 solar panels and three inverters. The removal works were completed prior to the new installation, allowing the roof to be cleaned and prepared following ongoing pigeon issues across the existing array before the new commercial solar and battery system was installed.
MyEnergy’s tailored commercial solar and battery system includes 39.6kW of JA Solar panels mounted on the shed roof using a Schletter roof mounting system, selected to provide a secure installation while protecting the existing roof structure across the winery facilities.
The solar array is paired with a 30kW Deye High Voltage Three Phase Hybrid Inverter, allowing the commercial solar and battery system to efficiently manage solar generation, battery storage and grid supply across winery operations.
Energy storage for the new system is provided by 51.2kWh of ZYC Energy Battery Storage, allowing excess solar energy generated during the day to be stored and used later when winery energy demand increases.
With the replacement commercial solar and battery system now installed, The Hedonist has increased solar generation and modern battery storage technology to better support winery operations across production and daily energy usage. The new system allows the winery to make better use of onsite solar generation while supporting its ongoing commitment to environmentally responsible winemaking.
