Glenlyon is a small rural town near Daylesford, Victoria, known for its beautiful landscapes and tranquil country lifestyle. However, its remote location often results in unstable power supplies, creating a need for reliable and sustainable energy solutions.
MyEnergy was contacted by a Glenlyon property owner requiring a more complex power solution to support three separate dwellings. With two homes occupied full-time and a third used occasionally, the system needed to accommodate varying demand across the property while delivering consistent, reliable power.
The system features a 16.6kW solar array using Trina Vertex panels, split between ground-mounted and roof-mounted installations to maximise generation across the site. At the core of the system is a 15kVa Victron Quattro 48/15000 inverter, paired with 33.6kWh of Pylontech battery storage to support the energy demands of all three dwellings.
Solar input is managed by a Victron SmartSolar MPPT RS 450/100, while a Fronius PRIMO inverter supports additional solar generation. The entire system is monitored and controlled through a Victron Cerbo GX, providing clear visibility and control.
Designed to suit a multi-dwelling setup, the system also allows for generator integration, ensuring consistent power availability when it’s needed.
