Coopers Shoot in Byron Bay is known for its elevated hinterland views, relaxed lifestyle and proximity to some of Australia’s most recognised coastline. While Byron Bay itself is well serviced, many properties in Coopers Shoot sit on large rural allotments where grid connection is impractical. For new builds in these locations, a reliable off grid power system is the best option.
For this new project in Coopers Shoot, the owners required a dependable power source to support construction. With the home still in development, early coordination was essential to ensure the system aligned with the building schedule and future energy demands.
MyEnergy worked from the architectural plans to design an off grid power system that would deliver strong performance from day one while allowing for future growth. The system was carefully planned and built in a large vermin and weather-proof steel cabinet at MyEnergy HQ in South Australia, before being transported interstate to Byron Bay for installation.
With roof space available at this stage of the build, 15.05kW of Aiko Solar panels were installed on a Schletter roof mounting system, integrating cleanly with the new structure.
At the heart of the system is a 10kW Deye low voltage hybrid inverter (single phase), paired with 40.96kWh of ZYC SIMPO lithium battery storage. This configuration provides substantial capacity to support construction loads and future residential requirements, with the flexibility to scale as the property evolves.
Our lead electrician Greg Tonkin completed the installation on site, swapping remote bush scrub for the Byron Bay coastline, a welcome change of scenery while delivering the same standard of workmanship MyEnergy is known for across Australia.
