Written by MyEnergy Engineering | Sep 23, 2025

Just outside the town of Goolwa on South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula, a section of the Goolwa Airport is being redeveloped into a new residential estate. This unique project is transforming part of the airfield into livable space on the edge of town, where each property will require an independent power solution.

The installation includes 17.6kW of JA Solar panels mounted on the shed roof using a Schletter roof mounting system. Power is delivered through a Victron MultiPlus-II and SMA inverter, with solar input managed by a Victron SmartSolar charge controller. System performance is monitored via the Victron Ekrano GX, giving the owner real-time visibility and control of their off grid power supply.

Energy is stored in ZYC SYMPO lithium batteries, securely housed within the steel cabinet, ensuring safe storage and allowing for future expansion if required. The system was also connected to an existing 7kVA generator already on-site.
