Mt7 Piggery, located near Coonalpyn in South Australia’s South East, required a dependable off-grid power system to support its agricultural operations. With the property located approximately 143 kilometres south-east of Adelaide, reliable electricity is critical for maintaining daily farm activity.
For operations like Mt7 Piggery, a dedicated off-grid power system provides the consistent energy supply needed to support equipment, infrastructure, and ongoing agricultural production where grid connection is impractical.
To meet the site’s requirements, MyEnergy designed and installed a high-capacity off-grid power system built within a 20-foot shipping container, allowing the complete system to be assembled, tested and transported to site as a single unit.
The system includes 86kW of Trina Solar modules, providing strong solar generation for the property’s off-grid power needs. Solar production is managed through DC-coupled Victron SmartSolar MPPT 450/200 charge controllers, with additional generation supported through AC-coupled Fronius Symo inverters.
At the centre of the installation are Victron Quattro inverters, delivering stable off-grid power across the property.
Energy storage is provided by 90kWh of Pylontech US3000 lithium batteries, ensuring dependable off-grid power during overnight periods and low solar production.
The system is monitored and controlled using a Victron Cerbo GX, allowing remote monitoring and management of the entire off-grid power installation.
This installation at Mt7 Piggery demonstrates how large-scale off-grid power systems can support demanding agricultural operations where grid access is unavailable. Built within a 20-foot shipping container, the system combines high solar generation, battery storage, and proven inverter technology to deliver dependable and scalable off-grid power, built to handle harsh outback conditions and demanding power loads.
