Home Solar and Battery System in Kingston S.E, South Australia.

Written by MyEnergy Engineering | May 19, 2026

Kingston S.E. is a coastal town along South Australia’s Limestone Coast, known for its strong fishing history and long stretches of rugged coastline. Located between Adelaide and Mount Gambier, the town is home to a mix of permanent residents, holiday homes and farming properties. As electricity prices continue to rise across regional areas, many homeowners in Kingston S.E. are now looking at solar and battery storage as a practical way to better manage their power usage and ongoing costs.

Reducing Reliance on the Grid

For this homeowner, the goal was to install a solar and battery system that could help reduce reliance on the grid and provide greater control over household power usage. With electricity pricing continuing to change and feed-in tariffs declining, battery storage is becoming an increasingly popular option for households wanting more flexibility around when and how they use electricity.

Designed for Daily Performance and Future Growth

MyEnergy worked closely with the homeowner to design a residential solar and battery system that could support everyday household usage while also providing room for future expansion if required. At the centre of the installation is a 10kW Deye Low Voltage Hybrid Single Phase Inverter, combining solar and battery management into a single system. The inverter works alongside 30kWh of ZYC Energy SIMPO lithium batteries housed within a dedicated battery cabinet, giving the homeowner the ability to store excess daytime solar generation for use during the evening and overnight periods.

The property was fitted with a 13.2kW array of JA Solar Panels mounted on the roof  using a Schletter Roof Mounting System. The roof-mounted layout allowed the available roof space to be used effectively while maintaining a clean and practical installation.
